In September, children tried their hand at assembling a wooden jungle gym at the Sasayama Childrenʼs Museum in Tambasasayama City, Hyogo Prefecture.
ミュージアムが開催したワークショップのひとつで、子供たち約20人が参加しました。

ジャングルジムは高さ4メートル。柱100本、横木100本を、日本の伝統的な手法である、「貫工法」で組み立てました。
The jungle gym is four meters high. It was assembled with 100 pillars and 100 horizontal timbers using the traditional Japanese “nuki method” of construction.
材木と材木の間に木のくさびを打ち込むことで、釘を使わずに固定させています。
Wooden wedges are driven between the timbers to hold them in place without the use of nails.
